In a time when thousands upon thousands are dying in religious and political wars, when diseases like cancer and AIDS are killing millions, one Christian group has decided to do their “Christian duty,” they say, to put the power of prayer to use — to lower gas prices.
Self-described “prayer warrior” Rocky Twyman, who made headlines last year when he claimed the Virginia earthquake was a sign from God to fix unemployment, has been using his “Prayer at the Pump” group for years to, well, pray at the pump for lower gas prices.

“We want [Obama] to invite Rush Limbaugh all these people that are hostile toward him because that’s in the Bible, you’re supposed to love your enemies and they all need to come together and pray,†said Twyman, a D.C.-area public relations consultant.
“[Obama] should do the Christian thing and reach out and do what Rick Perry did man. You know, he had that National Day of Prayer and Fasting. That could really work, we think it really make a difference and things would really, really start to change.â€
In the past, Twyman called on Obama to be more like NFL star Tim Tebow.
“Tebow gives God glory for his success and God in turn bless him. Those of us who study the Bible recall the text that says God is a jealous God,†he said.
“I and many of my prayer warriors firmly believe that the Obama administration would be able to solve the serious unemployment and economic problems facing this nation if he gave praise and glory to God publicly for the blessings that he has received as president.â€
After leading the group in prayer and song at the Exxon station by Union Station, Twyman claimed that the GOP-controlled House has a “demoniac spirit,†accusing Congress of carelessness over the high cost of gasoline.
