Watch: Seth MacFarlane, Wanda Sykes, Eliot Spitzer on Bill Maher Discuss “Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell”

Pure Awesomeness.

So many great quotes in this clip.

(Don’t read below if you want to see it first!)

Eliot Spitzer says it like it is – or should be. “So here’s the question: Why hasn’t it been repealed yet? Honestly, what takes so long? This is one of those things where you would like to see as a statement of principle, a statement of civil rights, just act. Sign an executive order. Get a bill through both Houses of Congress where Democrats have the votes. Just do it. That’s where we’d like to see action happen.”

Wanda Sykes responds: “It’s so easy to say that but this is a country who didn’t want our president to talk to the kids on the first day of school.”

Spitzer: “Do what Truman did when he desegregated the army.”

Then MacFarlane lands the ultimate anti-ignorance punch: “If you’re sitting at home in your undershirt, watching TV, worried about terrorism, and at the same time objecting to the person who’s putting their life on the line so that your family will be protected, then you’re the worst kind of fucking asshole there is.”

When you’re done, skip over to Bill Maher’s online after show discussion which is a lot more intelligent than much of the TV content.
