Watch: Mitt’s Mom Campaigning In 1962 Sounds Just Like Mitt’s Wife Today

Mitt Romney‘s mom, Lenore Romney, campaigning in 1962 for Mitt’s dad, George Romney, sounds almost word for word like Mitt Romney’s wife, Ann. Lenore Romney says in this 50-year old interview  that George Romney lived the first years of his life on welfare. She also denies their significant wealth, and pleads to voters to just “give him a chance,” and talks about what a hard worker George Romney is.

Lenore Romney, who was 54 when this interview was recorded, later became the first lady of Michigan when George Romney won the race she campaigned for, and would go on, eight years later, to run for the U.S. Senate, as a Republican, of course.

Buzzfeed, who posted this a few weeks ago, notes that “Lenore Romney sounds very similar to how Ann Romney described Mitt Romney in her convention speech.”

A little freaky, a coincidence, or planned?
