“The president’s lawyers asked a judge Friday to extend key deadlines on the multibillion lawsuit against his presidential administration, but hidden within the pages of the legal filing was a profound detail: that the president has been in talks with his own government staffers to ‘avoid protracted litigation,'” The New Republic reports.
Watch Michelangelo Signorile Explain America To A Palin Supporter
Towleroad just posted this amazing clip of the amazing Michelangelo Signorile explaining to a Sarah Palin supporter the Constitution and how America and the world works. Evidently, according to this listener, because we are a “Christian nation” and “majority rule is the way things work best,” the bible should become the law of the land and yet there’s no reason Oprah would not have been successful had the Civil Rights Act not passed.
It truly is an interesting, albeit frightening glimpse into the mind of Sarah Palin’s “real America,” that which thinks (I use the term lightly) that America is number one in everything, and that “people take care of their own” solves the world’s problems.
The caller says Michelangelo is “twisted.” She needs to look in the mirror.
I should note here that before the Civil Rights act and so-called “big government,” minorities and the elderly were doing far, far worse. No, it’s not perfect, but we’ve made large strides. The GOP would like to erase those gains, like their attempts this week to repeal health care reform.
