Watch: Glee’s Jane Lynch Wins Best Supporting Actress, Thanks Her Wife

At tonight’s Emmy Awards, actress Jane Lynch, who plays Sue Sylvester on “Glee,” won the award for “Best Supporting Actress in a Comedy.” Introduced by Stephen Colbert, Lynch broke character by being endearingly not in control.

In her speech she thanked her parents who raised her on the South Side of Chicago, Lynch said, “I love being an actor. I love being an ensemble.” In an amusing moment, Lynch professed actors “have no choice or any marketable skills.”

In a tribute to her Glee co-stars, Lynch quipped, “[to] the cast who are so young and fresh-faced… when I’m not seething with jealousy, I’m so proud of you.”

Toward the end, she said, “I love you, my wife Laura and my little girl Hayden…”

A truly memorable and exciting moment!
