Gabby Giffords, the former U.S. Congresswoman from Arizona who resigned one year after being shot in the head at a mass shooting which left 13 injured and another six people dead, led the Democratic National Convention in the pledge of allegiance. Giffords has displayed admiral bravery and courage and received a standing ovation as she walked, with a cane, onto the stage, accompanied by Democratic Chair Debbie Wasserman Schultz.
