Watch: Christian Ministry Preaches Anti-Gay Hate To Iowa Public School Kids

Falsely claiming “the average age of death of a homosexual man is 42 years old,” and “his actions literally kill him,” leaders of Bradlee Dean‘s Christian youth ministry You Can Run But You Cannot Hide and their band, Junkyard Prophet, in a three and a half hour public school assembly called homosexuality “sexual deviancy,” attacked popular singers Elton John and Lady Gaga, and told the junior high and high school students that being gay is a choice. Reports state they also separated the boys from the girls and in separate sessions told the girls “to chant a manta of sorts about remaining pure,” one student said.

You Can Run But You Cannot Hide, a certified anti-gay hate group, was invited to a small Iowa school last week to deliver their special message against rock music lyrics, abortion, and homosexuality, and they just released a portion of the video they say was recorded Thursday at the local school. Reportedly, the administration was unaware that You Can Run But You Cannot Hide (YCRBYCH) and its Christian rock band “Junkyard Prophet” would deliver homophobic and misogynistic rhetoric, but reportedly many schools have fell prey to deception from YCRBYCH, and the Dunkerton, Iowa school district is yet another.

The Southern Poverty Law Center last week certified YCRBYCH, which operates as a “Christian youth ministry,” as an anti-gay hate group after examining them for at least two years. A great deal of information about the tactics of YCRBYCH, and the content of assemblies given by “Junkyard Prophet,” the name of the Christian rock band created by YCRBYCH founder Bradlee Dean, has been written. Merely googling any of the above would have given administrators at Dunkerton ample information to make an educated decision to not invite the hate group, but that never happened, as administration officials admit. The one issue not discussed in the media so far is that this is a Christian ministry, whose services by definition should not have been paid for with public funds. Between $1500 and $2000 was paid to YCRBYCH.

In this video, below, you can hear members of You Can Run But You Cannot Hide verbally assault homosexuality, and even verbally assault the children who are forced to self-identify if they come from “broken homes.” The group leader actually suggests that these children might have been aborted in an effort to lead them away from being pro-choice.

The Junkyard Prophet leader in this video assails Elton John and Lady Gaga, claiming “this” is “pushed on you 24/7.” He also tells the students homosexuality “up until 1961 was illegal in all 50 states. We protected that institution [of marriage.]” He also adds about homosexuality that “in 1998 if you were busted in Rhode Island you could go to prison for 20 years,” and “in 1973 they taught it [homosexuality] was a mental illness.”
