Hundreds of same-sex couples across the state of Washington at midnight this morning lined up to get their marriage licenses — the first time Washington has offered licenses to same-sex couples. King County, the largest county in Washington, all night long tweeted the event, tallying the number of licenses it issued — 279 as of 9:00 AM ET this morning.
