Wanda Sykes says that Tracy Morgan “just yelled, ‘Fire,’ in a crowded theater,” and classified Morgan as “just a dumb comic.” Sykes is in an interesting position, being a fellow comedian and African-American, but also a lesbian, two of the minorities Morgan attacked during his anti-gay homophobic rant last Friday night in Nashville, Tennessee.
Sykes, 47, who came out in the wake of California’s Prop 8 same-sex marriage ban, made her comments via Twitter, appears to be of two minds on the topic, and even says, “I fault the TN lawmakers. They’ve created an anti-gay environment,” referring to the recent “Don’t Say Gay” bill that lawmakers passed last month.
Sykes, who was applauded by GLAAD for coming out in 2008, was honored at the 21st Annual GLAAD Media Awards in 2010. Sykes married her partner, Alex, in 2008. Alex gave birth to twins, Olivia Lou and Lucas Claude, in 2009.

“Had time to think. Tracy is just a dumb comic. I fault the TN lawmakers. They’ve created an anti-gay environment. Pt2”
“Don’t believe Tracy would be so ignorant in LA, because we have a mayor, a city council,and police chief who believes we are all equal. Pt3”
“I do believe in free speech, but for a youth in TN or any other numerous place, Tracy just yelled, “Fire,” in a crowded theater.”
