USAToday Asks “Did Kobe’s Punishment Fit The Crime?” America Disappoints

USA Today, in a story titled, “Did Kobe’s punishment fit the crime?,” about Kobe Bryant’s offensive, homophobic, anti-gay slur, has a poll currently running which asks the question, “Was Kobe Bryant’s $100,000 fine the right call?” As you can see from the image above, taken just minutes ago, America’s answer disappoints. The majority felt the punishment was too severe.

55% of Americans think Bryant should have delivered a heartfelt apology and that would have been good enough, in other words, the punishment was too severe. Only 18% thought the punishment fit the crime. 26% in total thought the punishment should have been steeper.

Of course, we know these polls are not scientific, but they still offer insight into a segment of America.

I suggest you have a look at the piece, and feel free to tell America the punishment was not too severe.
