Updated: A Dozen ‘Ex-Gays’ Show Up At DC Protest Expected To Draw ‘Thousands’

Thousands of so-called “ex-gay” activists were supposedly going to “descend” upon Washington, D.C., demanding their right, in front of the Supreme Court, to be protected by law. Now, let’s make this clear: a tiny group of people who claim a disproven and medically harmful “therapy” has turned them straight want the federal government to protect their right to inflict this dangerous practice onto others.

The anti-gay hate group industry, like the Family Research Council, the American Family Association, and anti-gay organizations like Concerned Women for America support the idea of giving what they would call “special rights” to “ex-gays,” but not giving equal rights in marriage or job protections to LGBT people.

Sandy Rios, who has worked for years for Fox News, and also works for the certified anti-gay hate group American Family Association, in their American Family Radio division, just as Bryan Fischer does, promised Ex-Gay Pride Month (now, pretty much canceled) organizer Christopher Doyle that “thousands of ex-gays are descending” on Washington, D.C. today. Maybe, maybe a dozen showed up. Right Wing Watch says “fewer than ten.”

Doyle, Right Wing Watch adds, “complained in an interview with the Christian Post that ‘un-American’ LGBT rights advocates have ‘shut us out,’ explaining that ‘because of all this homo-fascism and indoctrination in the media, ex-gays aren’t given a fair shake.’”

Rios confidently predicted that “thousands of ex-gays are descending” on Washington for a press conference planned for today at the Supreme Court. She lamented that when she led Concerned Women for America the media refused to hear “our ex-gay friends” because it “undermined the whole effort of the homosexual lobby.”
