Unashamed, Pastor Uses Bible To Defend Call On Government To Kill Gays
Curtis Knapp, the Kansas pastor who Sunday called on the government to kill all gay people, and lamented that it would not, says he is not ashamed and just preaching scripture.
As The New Civil Rights Movement reported earlier today, Pastor Knapp on Sunday told parishioners at his New Hope Baptist Church in Seneca, Kansas, the government has the power to kill all gay people.
“You got a better idea? A better idea than God?,†Knapp asked. The sermon was titled, “Homosexuality and the Need for National Revival.â€
“And should be put to death, that’s what happened in Israel, that’s why homosexuality wouldn’t have grown in Israel,†Pastor Knapp said on Sunday. “It tends to limit conversions, it tends to limit people coming out of the closet. ‘Oh, so you’re saying we should go out and start killing them?’ No, I’m saying the government should. They won’t, but they should. Say, ‘I can’t believe you, you’re horrible, you are a backwards Neanderthal of a person.’ Is that what they are calling scripture? Is God a Neanderthal backwards morality? Is this his word or not? If it’s his word, he commanded it. It’s his idea, not mine, and I’m not ashamed of it.â€
This CNN video shows a local TV station, KTKA, interviewing Knapp, who says:
We punish pedophilia, we punish incest, we punish polygamy, and various things. it’s only homosexuality that is lifted out as an exception.
Clearly, Knapp is “correcting” that in his church.
Knapp adds, “My hope is for their salvation, not for their death.”
It’s time we get religious leaders to denounce these small town backwards extremists who are contributing to the emotional torture of LGBTQ children.
The church does not appear to have a website or its own Facebook page, but here’s their page at Sermon Audio.
