Tweet Of The Day: NOM’s ‘Culture Director’

Thomas Peters, who fancies himself the “American Papist,” and serves as the “Culture Director” for NOM, the National Organization For Marriage, today reacted strongly to an article by The New Civil Rights Movement, which labeled the National Catholic Reporter a “Major Catholic Paper.” Peters wrote, via Twitter:

@gaycivilrights claims @ncroline is a “major catholic newspaper.” haha. hahahaha. ahhahhahah. HEHEHEH. man nothing will top that today. 😀

The article, “Major Catholic Paper: Romney, Not Obama, Is The Anti-Life Pro-Abortion Candidate,” profile an op-ed in the National Catholic Reporter, which in fact is an award-winning member of the Catholic Press Association having won at least 19 awards, chronicled on their website, which notes:

National Catholic Reporter has been the recipient for the last 13 consecutive years of the highest award for journalism from the Catholic Press Association.

The National Catholic Reporter reaches ninety-seven countries on six continents and has been published continuously since 1964, almost a half-century.

But these are typical tactics for NOM: attack, demean, belittle, and demonize anything that challenges their narrow-minded world view.

Let’s remember who Thomas Peters is — the  man whose idiotic article at the National Review falsely declared “Gay Marriage Defeated” in New York when, in fact, it hadn’t even been voted upon. And, as we all know, ultimately became law.

These are the journalistic standards of “reporting” NOM engages in.

Factless, opinion-based lies.
