Donald Trump says the Bureau of Labor Statistics jobs report of 7.8% unemployment is “phony,” and added, “I guarantee” the “real number is 15 percent, 16 percent, people even say 21 percent.†Trump, who teased American by threatening to run for President on a “birther” conspiracy theory platform, supported former CEO Jack Welch‘s claim two weeks ago that President Obama cooked the books.

“They’re not real numbers because the 7.8 — as Jack Welch said and he took a lot of heat for saying it, but he’s right — I guarantee you’re going to have a correction right after the election,†Trump claimed, not knowing that the next unemployment numbers come out four days before the election. “The 7.8 is not a real number. The real number is 15 percent, 16 percent, people even say 21 percent.â€
“So, it’s a phony number,†Trump added. “I don’t know how they allow it to get out there, but I guarantee you, as you’re sitting there after the election, that number is going to be corrected substantially upward. And everybody knows it.â€
Trump, who made his accusation this morning on Fox News’ “Fox And Friends” talk show, did not elaborate on whom “everybody” included.
