Transphobia And Homophobia Are All In The Family For Alaska Pro-Discrimination Activist

Next month, voters in Anchorage, Alaska will vote on Prop 5, an anti-discrimination ordinance that opponents on the Right are fighting hard — and dirty. Take Jim Minnery, a cousin of Tom Minnery of virulently anti-gay Focus On The Family fame. Tom Minnery, you’ll remember, was caught by Senator Al Franken “misinforming” Congress in his anti-gay testimony.

Anchorage is set to vote on April 5 on an anti-discrimination ordinance that LGBT advocates have been working to pass for 35 years, and opponents are ramping up their action against it,” Towleroad notes, and adds, “To help out One Anchorage with a donation, click HERE.”

It seems that Jim Minnery, president of the Alaska Family Council and a supporter of the Manhattan Declaration, apparently has inherited his elder cousin’s hatred of homosexuals and transgender folks.

The younger Minnery is responsible for ads that calls transgender Americans “transvestites,” and portrays them as threats to children and businesses — which is Hate 101 for all anti-gay activists. (Seriously, haven’t they learned?)

The three anti-discrimination ads Minnery has posted on YouTube are offensive, and filled with mis-information, including claiming people will be thrown in jail for discriminating, and suggesting that gay people only want to hire gay people, and straight people only want to hire straight people.

Using phrases like, “protect your rights,” and “no special rights” anti-gay activists like Minnery are truly embarrassing themselves, and showing they really don’t understand the law, or anything about it.
