Tony Perkins And Chuck Norris Make The Case For All LGBT People To Vote

Tony Perkins today pointed his followers to this video — recorded by Chuck Norris and his wife, Gena — in which they claim 30 million Christian Evangelicals did not vote in the 2008 election, handing the win to Barack Obama. Now, the Norris’ are engaging in a get-ot-the-vote campaign, to register as many Christian Evangelicals as possible. If that’s not a call to action to every LGBT person, if that’s not a call to action to every progressive, liberal, and Democrat, I don’t know what is.

Chuck and Gena Norris are engaging in an ugly lie-fest, one that quotes Ronald Reagan and suggests if President Obama wins re-election, America will face “1000 years of darkness.”

Norris tells his viewers, “If we look to history, our great country and freedom are under attack. We’re at a tipping point and, quite possibly our country as we know it may be lost forever if we don’t change the course our country is headed.”

“We’re at a tipping point,” Norris says, opening with ugly fear-mongering, and claiming “our country as we know it, may be lost forever, if we don’t change direction.”

Let’s be very clear here, as the Democratic National Convention begins. If Mitt Romney wins, he will appoint radical extreme religious conservatives to the U.S. Supreme Court. America will move closer to the theocracy the GOP has been pushing for. Abortion — Roe v. Wade — will be overturned. Same-sex marriage will be banned in the U.S. Constitution. And a national commission will be formed to investigate incidents of supposed anti-Christian speech and actions. How do we know? These aren’t wild, extreme fears of liberals an progressives — these are Mitt Romney’s platform. And he’s signed the National Organization For Marriage (NOM) marriage pledge, which calls for these anti-gay, anti-democratic, anti-American policies to become law.

Tony Perkins, who heads the Family Research Council, a recognized, certified, anti-gay hate group, knows if Barack Obama wins, he and his hate group will become less and less relevant as America moves forward.

It’s time to do everything we can to make sure Tony Perkins, Chuck Norris, and their anti-gay, anti-freedom theocratic ways don’t ever become a way of life.
