Today’s Romney Gaffe: Obama Hasn’t Raised Taxes ‘In His First 4 Years’
If there’s one sure thing you can bet Republicans will lie about, it’s President Obama‘s record. Mitt Romney has been campaigning, and claiming that President Obama has raised taxes on the middle class. “By the way, the president has raised taxes on the middle class,” Romney said last month. But today, in Ohio, campaigning alongside Paul Ryan, Romney said he admits a “new idea” Obama has is to raise taxes, which “he did not do in his first four years.”
“He’s got one new, one new idea,” Romney tell the audience. “I admit this, he has one thing he did not do in his first four years, said he’s going to do in his next four years, which is to raise taxes. And is there anybody who thinks that raising taxes will help grow the economy?”
