Tim Tebow To Speak At Evangelical University Whose Founder Blamed 9/11 On Gays
Tim Tebow is scheduled to speak at Liberty University, an evangelical Christian school founded by the man who blamed 9/11 on gays, the late Jerry Falwell. Liberty University is closely allied with Liberty Counsel, whose top spokesperson, Matt Barber — who is both a Vice President at Liberty Counsel and an Asst. Dean at Liberty University — has called President Barack Obama â€a white-hating, communist, Black Nationalist,” among other things.
Last week, Tim Tebow, author of the book Through My Eyes, flung the radical religious right on its head with the shocking announcement that he was canceling a speaking engagement at Pastor Robert Jeffress‘ Dallas church because of “new information.” Those on the left and right assumed the information was that Pastor Jeffress not only hates gays, but Muslims, Catholics, Jews, and many others.
Apparently not (which leaves the question, what was that “new information”?)
Pastor Jeffress later accused Tebow of “wimping out†by canceling, which earned Jeffress the title “most important man in America.â€

Liberty University “was founded by the late televangelist Jerry Falwell — it is now run by his son — who has blamed gays and liberals for the September 11 attacks, supported racist laws in the U.S. and abroad and attacked the Teletubbies for “modeling the gay life style,” Brian Tashman at Right Wing Watch reports today:
Liberty University bans gay students and shut down its College Democrats chapterover the party’s views on gay rights. The university has hostedmultipleanti-gayconferences and their law school is being sued over its allegedrole in helping Lisa Millerdisobey a court order and kidnap her daughter to Central America in order to avoid transferring custody to the girl’s other mother, her former partner.
Liberty University’s Vice President and law school dean Mathew Staver has defended the criminalization of homosexuality in Malawi, promoted the dangerous ex-gay therapy and warned that President Obama supports “forced homosexuality.†Furthermore, Staver has claimed that gay rights laws are part of an Antichrist spiritthat lead to crime, child molestation and death, along with the destructionofAmerica.
Last year, when the Matt Drudge-Sean Hannity attempt to smear the President with a video that millions around the world had already seen, here’s what Matt Barber, who describes himself as a “Christ follower, Liberty Counsel attorney, radio host, columnist (WashTimes, TownHall, WND, etc.) talking head, Husband, Father & ex-pro boxer” had to say about it:
