The ‘Love Actually’ Version Is Better Than Jimmy Fallon, The Roots And Mariah Carey

The folks at Gawker and their sister site, Jezebel, are falling over themselves with glee (see what we did there?) over this totally adorable and smile-inducing video version of “All I Want For Christmas Is You,” from Jimmy Fallon, The Roots, and Mariah Carey. I mean, it is awesome, but better than the “Love Actually” version? Heck, that’s a bunch of malarkey.

Fallon’s folks at Late Night note:

Backstage before the show, Jimmy, Mariah Carey, and The Roots grabbed some instruments you’d find in an elementary school classroom and stopped by the Late Night “Music Room” to sing Mariah’s holiday classic, “All I Want For Christmas Is You.” (instrument list below)

Jimmy Fallon – wood block, tambourine, bass drum, kazoo
Mariah Carey – vocals
Questlove – wooden clacker w/ afro pick
Mark Kelley – Fisher Price xylophone
Kamal Gray – recorder
James Poyser – melodica
Captain Kirk – ukulele
Tuba Gooding Jr. – kazoo
Frank Knuckles – bongos
Black Thought – sleigh bells

For the record, the “Love Actually” version is probably my all-time favorite Christmas song, ever.

Don’t mess with me, Gawker.

What do you think?
