The (Koran-Burning) Gospel According To Pastor Terry Jones

On August 10, 2010, Pastor Terry Jones, better-known as the man who created “International Burn A Koran Day,” was qustioned by an attorney in a legal, recorded deposition.

Pretty much everything you might want to know — or might not want to know — about his “beliefs,” and how “International Burn A Koran Day” came into being, is here.

Right now the news is all over the board, but it appears Jones has canceled his Koran-burning plans and is planning to visit the Imam who is planning the Park 51 Community Center, aka the “Mosque at Ground Zero.”

It’s in PDF form. I found few pages that weren’t of interest.

Read it, and weep.

(Why publish this? Because it’s important to understand the minds of even the craziest among us. As Gail Collins wrote today, “5 percent of our population is and always will be totally crazy. I don’t mean mentally ill. According to the National Institute for Mental Health, 26 percent of American adults suffer from a diagnosable mental disorder in any given year. So, basically, that’s just normal life. I mean crazy in the sense of “Thinks it is a good plan to joke with the flight attendant about seeing a bomb in the restroom.”)
