Bigotry and hatred are learned. You can thank your parents, your elementary school friends, and even the media (I’m talking to you, Lou Dobbs, Glenn Beck, Rush Limbaugh…) for teaching you how to be a bigot.
What, you don’t agree? You don’t think you are?
Trust me, everyone has at least a little bit of discrimination in them. There are too many factors that go into creating the ways we discriminate to be immune from them. But you can be aware of it, and be a good role model for others.
