Virginia Foxx, the Tea Party Republican U.S. Congresswoman best-known for her lies about Matthew Shepard, today threw a Twitter tantrum spewing lore lies, this time about Obamacare.
Foxx had told Matthew Shepard’s mother — who was sitting at the time mere yards away in the House gallery while Congress debated the Matthew Shepard hate crimes bill — that her son was not killed because he was gay, rather, he was the victim of a simple robbery. Foxx refused to offer a real apology, instead pointing to a highly-discredited ABC News story on the assault that left Shepard strung to a fence in a coma for almost a day, then hospitalized for a week before ultimately dying.
Rather than picking up a phone and helping people understand what’s really in Obamacare, or pointing them to resources that could help give them facts to counter their false beliefs, Congresswoman Foxx sticks to partisan politics and stokes lies and fear. Country first? Hardly.
