An email from a Pennsylvania-based Tea Party group,  Northeast Pennsylvania Spirit of 1776, includes a long “joke” with images and supposed quotes from America’s Founding Fathers that culminates in a “joke” about how the Founders beat President Barack Obama to death.

ThinkProgress spoke with a member of the group, who confirmed that the organization sent out the mailing to its members. She explained that the missive was funny because it’s predicated on the notion that Obama “may be a Muslim.†NEPA Spirit Of 1776 appears to be an independent group that does not endorse candidates and is not aligned with the Republican party.
The bit is a copy of Robin Williams’ ’71 Virginians’ routine, in which he jokes that Osama bin Laden is greeted by Virginians — rather than virgins — when he dies and goes to Heaven.

In March of this year, a federal judge admitted sending a racist and bestiality-laden email about President Barack Obama and his mother, but said he’s not a racist, and added that he sent it because he is not a fan of the President.
A fundraising email about a fictitious “President Obama’s Million Rifle Ban†depicted an angry President Obama with his finger pointed at Republican Senator Rand Paul — and a gun pointed at President Obama’s head.
Judson Phillips, the head of Tea Party Nation, one of the largest tea Party groups, in a published email to supporters strongly suggested that President Obama is a gay, crack-cocaine-smoking, marijuana-using drug addict who did poorly in college.
It’s amazing the Tea Party has the energy to do anything. They must be exhausted from all their laughing.
