Stop SB 48 And Stop the Homosexual Agenda!

Parents tell hate group head Tony Perkins that homosexuality is sin and they don’t want their children to know gay people exist. Stop SB 48. Because God is love.

 

The people at Stop SB 48 are begging you to “Help Stop the Homosexual Agenda!” by donating money and replaying to your friends this video that demonizes the very concept of same-sex identity, same-sex couples, or the teaching that same-sex people exist.

Tony Perkins, the head of the certified hate group Family Research Council, narrates this ludicrous video that shows half-decade old footage of parents talking about the teaching their children went through in Massachusetts. You know, Massachusetts, the state with one of the lowest divorce rates in the country, and one of the lowest rates of uninsured in the country? That Massachusetts.

One of the parents in this hate video says she told her school administrators, “You’re presenting that which is sin to our son.” She then went on to tell there administrators that she never works on the Sabbath, she obeys everything her husband tells her, she never serves shellfish to her family, and she never wears poly-cotton clothes. Right? False!

Jesus says all sins are the same, yet the “sin” of love is condemned by these religious extremists.

If there were one “sin” that should be given a pass, shouldn’t it be one of love?

The parent continues. “We want to raise our children to know God, and God has blessed us with the sacred responsibility to raise them, for him, to know him, and to know his truth.”

Because God’s truth is that homosexuals are evil!

Let’s teach that to kids.

Brilliant!

Or not. This concept of sin is moot and ludicrous. We don’t live in a theocracy, we live in a representative democracy. And there is nothing wrong with same-sex marriage. It is not a religious, but a secular issue and if these parents don’t want schools to teach equality, if these parents don’t want their schools to teach truth about the disabled, and about minorities, and about the LGBT community, they can home school, like so many Tea Party freaks do these days, or they can pay for private schools, or they can move.

Just so they can indoctrinate hate into their young children’s hearts. The way God intended.

 

Last week I wrote, “SB 48, California’s FAIR Education Act, is this year’s Prop 8. You have absolutely no idea how incredibly organized the anti-​gay hate groups are on this issue, and we will lose if and when it gets to the ballot box (and it will.)”

“The FAIR Education Act would ensure that LGBT people are included in instructional materials, which studies have shown is linked to greater student safety and lower rates of bullying,” writes Equality California. “The FAIR Education Act would require that lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender (LGBT) Americans are included and recognized for their important historical contributions to the economic, political, and social development of California. Specifically, this legislation would add LGBT to the existing list of underrepresented cultural and ethnic groups, which are covered by current law related to inclusion in textbooks and other instructional materials in schools. This inclusion will help to ensure that students get a fair and accurate picture of the people and events that have shaped our society, and that fair and accurate portrayals of LGBT people are no longer” excluded from classroom discussions. The FAIR Education Act will bring classroom instruction into alignment with non– discrimination laws passed by the California Legislature and adopted by the State Board of Education a decade ago, by prohibiting the adoption of discriminatory instructional materials and textbooks.”
