Sore Losers! Family Research Council Furious Over DADT Ruling

The Family Research Council, labeled a “hate group” by the Southern Poverty Law Center, released this statement on last night’s federal court ruling that declared “Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell” unconstitutional.

Note the vitriol, radical right talking points, and repetition.

Pretty much a template for all the right’s statements on ruling they don’t like.

Time for them all to find a thesaurus.

Here’s the release:

“It is hard to believe that a District Court level judge in California knows more about what impacts military readiness than the service chiefs who are all on the record saying the law on homosexuality in the military should not be changed.   Once again, homosexual activists have found a judicial activist who will aid in the advancement of their agenda.  This is a decision for Congress that should be based upon the input of the men and women who serve and those who lead them.”

Let’s remember that 80% of the American people want DADT repealed, the president wants DADT repealed, the House has already passed repeal, and there are more senior level military leaders, including Secretary of Defense Gates, than I can count, who want it repealed.

As I wrote in February,

“We now have Secretary of Defense Robert Gates, Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, Admiral Mike Mullen, former Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, General John M. Shalikashvili, former Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, and former Secretary of State Colin Powell, under whom “Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell” was enacted, and former Commander in Chief, President Bill Clinton, under whom “Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell” was enacted, and many other military leaders at the highest levels, all stating that “Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell” should be repealed.”
