So What Did Betty White Say To President Obama In The Oval Office?

Betty White, the 90-year old actress beloved by the LGBT community and, really, all of America — the Betty White Host SNL Facebook page got over 485,000 fans — spent some time on Monday with President Barack Obama in the Oval Office, and even played with the first dog, Bo, on the White House lawn.

But what did the former Golden Girl have to say to the leader of the free world?

“I didn’t say anything at all,” said White. “He was charming and wonderful and I got a kiss on the cheek,” the Wall Street Journal reports:

White said that Obama extended her an invitation, a follow up to the 90th birthday video that he sent the television star, joking that he didn’t believe she was that age and asking her for her birth certificate.

“I stay away from politics,” said White, declining to tell Speakeasy any specifics about her political views. “That’s everybody’s personal business,” she added, “I’m not that deep or that bright.”

In May, USA Today reported that Betty White endorsed the President’s re-election:

The actress Betty White is enthusiastically endorsing Obama for a second term. White, 90, who described herself as bi-partisan and typically keeps her political views private, said in an Associated Press interview that she “very, very much favors” Obama in the November election. White, who has bit of a cult following with the younger set, spoke just days after Obama raised $15 million for his reelection campaign at a fundraiser hosted by actor George Clooney.

White said she likes how the president “represents us,” but didn’t delve into any specifics.

Yesterday, in an interview with The Huffington Post, White answered several questions, including:

What’s it like being a gay icon?
Oh! I didn’t know I was a gay icon. I get a lot of mail — but I don’t get many bad letters — but I got a woman the other day that was so upset with me because they said, “How do you feel about the gay marriage thing?” and my answer to that is, “I really don’t care with whom you sleep, I just care what kind of a decent human being you are.” I figure all the rest of it is your business and not mine. And not hers, incidentally.
