So, Gay Marriage Is Still Illegal In Massachusetts?

Gay marriage is still illegal in Massachusetts, according to Jack Minor, who writes for the Greeley Gazette, a Greeley, Colorado online newspaper. In a piece titled, “Romney unilaterally implemented ‘gay’ marriage in Massachusetts,” Minor suggests that former Governor Mitt Romney secretly supports same-sex marriage — or that his actions do. Minor bases this idea on Amy Contrada’s book, “Mitt Romney’s Deception: His Stealth Promotion of ‘Gay Rights’ and ‘Gay Marriage’ in Massachusetts.”

Unsurprisingly, Contrada’s book is recommended by uber-homophobes Linda Harvey and Peter LaBarbera.

Minor, whose only claim to fame may be his audio interview of birther Jerome Corsi featured on obamareleaseyourrecords.com, writes that in Massachusetts, “[s]ame-sex marriage still not legal,” and claims,

“What many may not realize is that, to this day, the Massachusetts legislature still has not acted on the court’s opinion. The only law Romney signed relating to same-sex marriage was legislation eliminating a required blood test for sexually transmitted diseases before couples could obtain a marriage license.”

Minor recently wrote, “Pedophiles want same rights as homosexuals.”

Wikipedia notes,

“Same-sex marriage in the U.S. state of Massachusetts began on May 17, 2004, as a result of the Supreme Judicial Court of Massachusetts ruling in Goodridge v. Department of Public Health that it was unconstitutional under theMassachusetts constitution to allow only heterosexual couples to marry. Massachusetts became the sixth jurisdictionin the world (after the Netherlands, Belgium, Ontario, British Columbia, and Quebec) to legalize same-sex marriage. It was the first U.S. state to issue marriage licenses to same-sex couples.”

Contrada’s website claims Governor Romney:

  • Worked closely with homosexual activists and pro-gay rights advisors
  • Implemented “gay marriage” through his executive departments without legislative authorization, violating the Massachusetts Constitution
  • Pushed a constitutional amendment strategy doomed to failure, and ignored the call to remove the activist judges who ruled for “gay marriage”
  • Funded and promoted GLBT indoctrination in the public schools through his “Governor’s Commission on Gay and Lesbian Youth,” and his Department of Education “Safe Schools” programs
  • Undermined religious freedom, failing to defend Catholic Charities in the “homosexual adoptions” fiasco
  • Continued or implemented radical homosexual and transgender programs in his executive departments
Same-sex marriage is still not legal in Massachusetts? Bunk. No surprise, coming from an anti-gay birther pushing a book supported by huge homophobes.
And now, back to the land of reality.
