Shocking! Sarah “I don’t support gay marriage” Palin Joins Fox News
“I have voted along with the vast majority of Alaskans who had the opportunity to vote to amend our Constitution defining marriage as between one man and one woman. I wish on a federal level that’s where we would go. I don’t support gay marriage.â€
– Sarah Palin, October 20, 2008
In what one can only describe as “what took so long,” former Republican Vice Presidential candidate, former Governor, former chair of the Alaska Oil and Gas Conservation Commission, former Mayor of Wasilla, Alaska, former “Miss Congeniality,” former sportscaster, former head of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes, Sarah Palin has just signed a multi-year deal with Fx News to be a contributor. She will not (yet) be anchoring her own show.
More via OnTheIssues.com:
Palin “supported Alaska’s decision to amend its Constitution to ban same-sex marriage. But she used her first veto as governor to block a bill that would have prohibited the state from granting health benefits to same-sex partners of public employees. Ms. Palin said she vetoed the bill because it was unconstitutional”
Palin also said she “would deny benefits to homosexual couples. ‘I believe that honoring the family structure is that important.'”
What’s troubling is that this gives Palin yet another platform to spew her extreme right-wing hatred and extreme religious bigotry. On the other hand, it’s a chance for everyone to see ignorance and arrogance even more regularly.
