Seattle Area 17-Year Old Bullied To Death

Six days after he turned seventeen, Jordan Ryan Binion succumbed to suicide by gunshot. In “Family blames bullying for suicide,” there are reports are that he was being bullied “constantly,” and had received “a derogatory text message.” There is another report that says he was “involved in an off-campus fight.”

Of course, like most of the other suicide reports I read, “The school says it never received any complaints about bullying from the boy or his parents.”

Usually, the parents say they have alerted the schools, to no avail.

Jordan Ryan Binion Went home to the Lord on October 19, 2010. Jordan was born on October 13, 1993 in Seattle, Washington at Swedish Medical Center. Jordan was baptized at St. Lukes Lutheran Church in Federal Way, Washington. He was a senior at Graham Kapowsin High School in Graham. Jordan was an avid snowboarder and loved the outdoors. He enjoyed camping with his family and fly fishing. He loved music and enjoyed playing both his acoustic and electric guitar and rapping with his friends. Jordan is survived by his parents Willie and Deborah Binion of Graham, Washington, his sister Mercedes Gant of Tacoma, Washington, his brother, Anthony Binion of Whitesborro, Texas, his grandmother, Patty Stover of Enumclaw Washington, and Marvin and Dorothy Ellison (“Big Mama and Big Daddy” ) of Eatonton, GA . Jordan was a loving uncle to his two nieces, Minyaune & Carlayeh and his nephew Carl. Jordan had 18 cousins, and numerous loving aunts and uncles. Jordan, you were a wonderful person, kind and thoughtful. We will miss your sense of humor and bright smile. You were such a bright young man and we will miss you so much. We love you. There will be a memorial service at St. Lukes Lutheran Church in Federal Way on Wednesday, October 27, 2010 at 1:00 p.m. Memorials in honor of Jordan may be made to the National Alliance Mental Illness (NAMI)-www.nami.org
