Bryan Fischer, the public face of the certified anti-gay hate group, American Family Association (AFA), Friday on American Family Radio claimed that gay children don’t commit suicide because they are mocked or ridiculed, because, according to him, if that were true, “dozens” of adult employees of the American Family Association would also be committing suicide because of the tremendous amount of ridicule they receive.
Yes, Fischer actually said this.
Fischer is married and has fathered two children with his wife, Debbie.
The obscene lack of empathy Fischer has is offensive and astonishing.

Bryan Fischer brought on anti-gay activist Michael Brown to discuss his recent column defending Kirk Cameron from a tweet by Roseanne Barr in which she said Cameron was “an accomplice to murder with his hate speech†by claiming that Michelle Obama must then also be “complicit in the suicides of kids who were bullied because of their obesity.”
Fischer loved that line of reasoning, adding that it was “just ridiculous on its face” to think that being mocked, ridiculed, and condemned would lead gay kids to commit suicide.
Fischer also falsely claims in the video (below) that the American Family Association (AFA) has never mocked LGBT people. “We don’t mock homosexuals. We care about them. We love them. We want to see them get help. We don’t ridicule them. We don’t make fun of them.”
Fischer adds he wants to see LGBT people “liberated” from that “destructive” “lifestyle.”
This week, the SPLC reaffirmed the AFA’s status as an anti-gay hate group, along with 26 other anti-gay hate groups. Anti-gay hate groups jumped 59% in the past year.
