Sarah Silverman: ‘Would Be Crazy’ For Women To Not Stand Up For Women’s Rights (Video)
Sarah Silverman, who attended a fundraiser in New York for Elizabeth Warren, a Democratic candidate the U.S. Senate for Massachusetts, spoke with civil rights attorney and radio host Yetta Kurland last night and told her that “it would be crazy” for women to not stand up for women’s rights.
Silverman, who is making news this week for her unique video about voters’ rights, told Kurland “we’re in desperate need” of Elizabeth Warren, because “it’s a special thing when someone in politics is good,” and added, “I love her.”
“Women’s rights and reproductive rights — it shouldn’t be a partisan thing,” Silverman told Kurland, in a sit down at the Openhouse Gallery in SoHo, where the Warren fundraiser was hosted. “It’s a women thing. To be a woman and not be fiercely protective of our own rights to decide what to do with our own bodies would be crazy.”
