Santorum Suggests Science Proves The Existence Of God

Rick Santorum, the beleaguered GOP presidential candidate who has made opposition to same-sex marriage his hallmark, in an interview with a New Hampshire newspaper suggests that science indeed proves the existence of God, saying, “maybe the science points to the fact that maybe science doesn’t explain all these things.” In other words, essentially, Santorum says he wants schools to teach creationism. Santorum further adds that “the left and the scientific community” don’t allow even the discussion of God (“God forbid!”) in the classroom. Not true, but Santorum was never big on facts, aside from calling a napkin a napkin.

Brian Tashman at Right Wing Watch writes:

During a meeting with the editorial board of the Nashua Telegraph, Rick Santorum urged public schools to begin teaching claims that undermine evolution, no matter their scientific veracity. He blamed “the left and the scientific community, so to speak,” for the inability of schools to teach about the role of God or a Creator, and said that “maybe the science points to the fact that maybe science doesn’t explain all these things.”

Such attacks on the teaching of evolution are nothing new from Santorum, who attached language in the Conference Report of the No Child Left Behind Act that says a “quality science education” include topics that challenge biological evolution as part of his “teaching the controversy” campaign.

Recently, Santorum has said Gay Marriage Will “Execute” Straight Marriage, said  he will die to stop gay marriage, Marriage Will Fix The Economy, and told Piers Morgan that calling his bigoted views on gay marriage “bigoted” was bigoted.
