Santorum: My War On Porn And Contraception Consistent With My War On Big Government
Apparently, there are two Rick Santorums. One Rick Santorum spends his days railing against the evils of contraception, pornography, Satan, separation of church and state, the teaching of evolution, college, the ruling that Prop 8 is unconstitutional, and gay marriage – while vowing to unmarry legally-married same-sex couples. The other Rick Santorum, who today appeared on Morning Joe, claims that he doesn’t talk about social issues that much, and all these liberal media people who says he does are just wrong, and, oh my, big government is evil!

Today, Santorum, fresh off a week and weekend of discussing his deep desire to ban pornography and contraception, told MSNBC’s Morning Joe team that these are “gotcha” issues, and he doesn’t talk about social issues, except in the context of the family and the economy.

Were Santorum to be discussing these issues in the context of the economy, he’d recognize the millions — if not billions — contraception and pornography bring to the economy, and banning either would mean the loss of hundreds of thousands if not millions of jobs.
“The principle that I talk about on the campaign is that we are losing our freedom,” Santorum says in the video from today’s Morning Joe, below. “We have a government that is getting bigger and bigger, we have a group of elites who think they can run our lives better than we can run it ourselves.”
Right…
Note in this video at the end how Santorum talks about “the Catholic faith or any other legitimate religion.” Who decides?
Mediaite adds:
Brzezinski and Scarborough then had what appeared to be a little pow-wow — Perhaps about wrapping up the segment? Moving to another topic? — as Santorum continued speaking about how the “destruction of the American family†as an economic unit. “Let’s try to focus on reality,†Santorum later advised, instead of following the narratives the media attempts to pitch.
When Scarborough asked Santorum directly if he felt the host was trying to pigeon hole or stereotype, Santorum responded with, “well, yeah, sure.†Scarborough then added that he’d been ready to move on, but “you wanted to keep talking about it.â€
The really scary stuff starts after the 3:00 mark.
