Rosie Perez Mocks Mitt: ‘If You Were A Gay Latina’ You Would Win (Video)
Actress Rosie Perez mocks Mitt Romney‘s comments about Latinos in this new ad campaign. Looking at Romney’s now-infamous “47 percent” comments, where Romney claimed it would have been easier for his to get elected had he been born of Mexican parents — had he been Hispanic, in other words — Perez rightly mocks Romney, and ponders how “easy” it would be for Romney to win were he Latino, as he suggested, or, gay, or a woman, or “a gay Latina.”
“Actually, Mitt, that is so true! All you have to do is look at the statistics and Mitt’s point becomes crystal clear,” Perez notes. “Hispanics represent 17% of the population, and account for less than two percent of all elected and appointed officials. The advantage is obvious.”
“Think of all our Hispanic-American presidents. Jorge Washington, to Jorge Bush — uno y dos — and who can forget Presidente Jimmy Smits?”
Perez adds, “He didn’t really need to go full John Boehner on the spray tan.”
“Oh my goodness, what if you were just a little bit gay Mitt. Think of all the advantages that would provide,” Perez mocks. “What if you had a vagina? If you were a gay Latina this election would be in the bag for you!”
“Unfortunately for you, Mitt, you were cursed. Growing up as the son of a wealthy governor and auto executive. And when your father paid your way through private school — Harvard, Harvard Law, and bought you your first house, I just can’t imagine how difficult that must have been for you.
“But the truth is, the reason Latinos aren’t voting for you, is that your policies suck. Being Latino wouldn’t win the election for you. But saying, jokingly, that you wish you were, might actually lose it for you.”
