Romney Goes Birther: ‘No One’s Ever Asked To See My Birth Certificate’
Mitt Romney, speaking in Michigan, one of his several home states, told supporters this morning, “No one’s ever asked to see my birth certificate.” Lis Smith, a Barack Obama spokesperson who reportedly was at the event, responded via Twitter:

@mittromney, keeping it substantive & classy a la@realdonaldtrump, says that no one has “ever asked to see [his] birth certificate.”— Lis Smith (@Lis_Smith) August 24, 2012
Romney’s full quote:
“I love being home, in this place where Ann and I were raised, where both of us were born,” Romney said after introducing his wife, fellow Michigan native Ann, as Talking Points Memo, who provided the video, below, reported. “No one’s ever asked to see my birth certificate. They know that this is the place where we were born and raised.”
This is what American politics has degenerated into.

Obama provided his birth certificate, Mitt. Let’s see your tax returns.
