Rick Perry Gets Slammed By CNN’s Wolf Blitzer

Rick Perry Needs To Get At Least His Facts Straight

Rick Perry has absolutely no idea what he’s talking about. He’s spent this week attacking gays and has paid a steep price for it.

Yesterday, Perry was interviewed by CNN’s Wolf Blitzer, who subsequently, just by asking a few relevant questions, stumped Perry.

Listen as his answers don’t come up straight.

Perry claims Obama has “used the military” twice to “get support from his base.”

Ian Millhiser at Think Progress notes that “when pressed to explain just how Obama is waging this imaginary war by CNN’s Wolf Blitzer, Perry was reduced to playing a weak game of guilt by association,” and offers this partial transcript:

PERRY: We’ve got a federal judge, for instance, in San Antonio that said these kids can’t say an invocation at school. I mean, they say you can’t even use the word “invocation” at their commencement.

BLITZER: Is that President Obama’s war on religion?

PERRY: I’m just giving you some examples of what we’re seeing from the left, of which, I would suggest to you, President Obama is a member of the left and, uh, substantial left of center beliefs.

In another post, Sally Steenland, director of the Faith and Progressive Policy Initiative at American Progress Action Fund, and a guest blogger at Think Progress writes, “Rick Perry, Meet Obama’s Office Of Faith-Based Partnerships.”
