Republicans Are Now So Lonely They’re Stealing Democrats

2012 is turning out to be a really bad, totally terrible year for conservatives, Republicans, and Tea Party types. So bad, in fact that conservatives and Republicans are apparently now stealing Democrats to make their ranks look bigger.

Take, for example, Fox News frequent guest and faux media watchdog Brent Bozell‘s “Newsbusters,” which claims to be “the leader in documenting, exposing and neutralizing liberal media bias.” And we all know what “liberal media bias” really means: facts.

(You remember Bozell, who in December said on Fox News that President Barack Obama looks like “a skinny, ghetto crackhead,” right?)

Take, also, for example, the “liberal media bias” fact that openly-gay Democrat U.S. Congressman for Colorado Jared Polis is, in fact, a Democrat. It’s not hard to prove. Wikipedia says Polis “is a member of the Democratic Party.” Polis’ biography on his official House website states that he “serves on the House Democratic Steering and Policy Committee, as a Democratic Caucus Regional Whip, as co-chairman of the New Democrat Coalition Education Task Force, chair of the Immigration Task Force of the Congressional Progressive Caucus, and as co- chairman of the LGBT Equality Caucus.” And since no Republican voted for healthcare reform, the photo above is just one more piece of proof that Polis is a Democrat.

Which of course is why Newsbusters claims that Polis is a Republican.

In “CNN’s Don Lemon: ‘Why Are There So Many More Examples of Gay Conservative Closet Cases?’,” Newsbusters’ Associate Editor Noel Sheppard asks, “if the Democratic Party is so much more tolerant of LGBT issues, why have so few of its members been openly gay?”

In the history of the United States Congress, there have only been three Democrats outed during their service: Tammy Baldwin, Barney Frank, and Gerry Studds.

The openly gay Republican Congressmen are the exact same number: Steve Gunderson, Jim Kolbe, and Jared Polis.

If there are “so many more examples of gay conservative closet cases,” wouldn’t you imagine that in the history of our Congress, there would be far more outed Democrats?

Sheppard is “mistaken.” Clearly, openly-gay Democrats outweigh openly-gay Republicans two-to-one, but, hey, why let facts get in the way when you can lie to your readers?

Next you know Brent Bozell will be on Fox claiming Obama, whose popularity is vastly higher than the GOP presidential candidates, is a Republican also.

Don’t put it past him.

Oh, by the way, Noel Sheppard is on Twitter.
