Rep. Allen West Sees Obama Supporters As “A Threat To The Gene Pool”

Rep. Allen West on Monday, on the ultra-right wing Tea Party blog Red State, wrote, “when I see anyone with an Obama 2012 bumper sticker, I recognize them as a threat to the gene pool.” Rep. West, best known for his false claim that he has a higher security clearance than President Obama, in his 800-word rambling diatribe, added, “I believe we are headed towards the ultimate ideological clash in America.”

Allen West, who is making headlines today for his hate-filled, vile, unchivalrous attack via email on DNCC Chair Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz, also attacked President Obama in his weekly Red State blog post, which featured the words, “Hope you like your Change,” with an image of the well-known Soviet hammer and sickle forming the “C” in Change. (Image, above) West has all of 40 followers on Red State, which was founded by radical right-wing antagonist Erick Erickson.

“As for President Barack Obama, he has no such plan. He has never had a plan, just words, just speeches,” writes Allen West, adding, that his attack on the President “has nothing to do with race (unfortunately my colleague from Texas, Representative Sheila Jackson-Lee believes so), and it has everything to do with an economic vision which is anathema to our free market/free enterprise system…an economic vision which has failed at every turn.

“And all we hear from the President is talk about “shared sacrifice,” “tax the rich,” and “increase revenues by tax hikes.” It was just December 2010 that President Obama and the Democrats extended the Bush era tax rates for two years…now less than a year later they are FLIP-FLOPPING!”

(Lions and tigers and bears, oh my!)

“West’s disdain and harsh rhetoric for those who don’t agree with him is nothing new,” writes Marie Diamond at Think Progress. “He frequently disparages political opponents – often personally. He once said anti-war congressmen should “get shot a few times,” and claimed “if you support Medicare…you can kiss the United States of America goodbye.”

Oddly, Rep. West, represents a district in Florida, which has a higher-than average percent of the population on Medicare. His re-election campaign will be interesting.

Perhaps the nation would be safer if West took the subway?
