Reagan Explains His ‘Polygamy, Bestiality, And Perhaps Even Murder’ Op-Ed On Gay Marriage
Michael Reagan appeared on Piers Morgan Live last night to explain his recent op-ed, which included a comparison of same-sex marriage to “polygamy, bestiality, and perhaps even murder.”
Reagan — son of the late former President who is revered by today’s GOP for reasons that don’t compare with his record — began the interview by defending his comments, saying, “what’s interesting is these are the same questions being posed in courtrooms across the United States of America, and in fact posed in the Supreme Court just eight days ago.”
Michael Reagan, it turns out, is no Ronald Reagan. He lacks his father’s charm, charisma, and intellect.
Reagan the younger cannot fathom the concept that he is not a Supreme Court justice, nor can he fathom the fact that the justices ask questions not based, necessarily, on their personal or even legal beliefs, but often to elicit a particular response, to test a theory; in short, to learn — something he clearly has no interest in accomplishing.
Michael Reagan’s op-ed was an attempt to cajole Christians and churches “to fight back,” as he asked the question, “where in the heck are the churches on the issue of legalizing gay marriage?”
Where are the Protestants, Jews and Catholics? Have they lost their tongues? Their hearts and wills? Their institutional you-know-whats?
Where’s the moral outrage? Why aren’t thousands of our pastors, priests and rabbis shouting from their pulpits? Why aren’t they leading their congregations through the streets in mass protest?
Why aren’t their bishops appearing on the tube with David Gregory and Piers Morgan to defend the institution of marriage as a union of one man and one woman?
Like the bank executives who are too chicken to stand up to the federal bullies in Washington, and like the energy company bosses in California who won’t stand up to the Green Socialists in Sacramento, the churches cower in fear.
Are they afraid to lose their 501(c)(3) tax-exempt status by engaging in political activity? Are they afraid to be derided as religious nuts and cultural Cro-Magnons by the liberal media?
Or are our churches and their comfortable leaders simply no longer willing to fight for what is right?
But that wasn’t the worst of it.
CNN reports that as “part of the live interview, Piers Morgan reviewed specific sections of Reagan’s [op-ed] piece which he found to be particularly offensive, including the portion where he projected the future of gay ‘culture’ among Americans:”
“Ultimately about changing the culture of the entire country; it inevitably will lead to teaching our public school kids that gay marriage is a perfectly fine alternative and no different than traditional marriage. There is also a very slippery slope leading to other alternative relationships and the unconstitutionality of any law based on morality. Think about polygamy, bestiality, and perhaps even murder.”
“I think it does send a slippery slope,” offered the adopted son of former President Ronald Reagan, defending his op-ed. “I think if you accept the redefinition of marriage then you’re going to have to accept the redefinition all the way down the line.”
Fortunately, Morgan was unable to support Reagan’s intolerance.
“For you to come out as Ronald Reagan’s son,” Morgan said, “Do you understand why gay people find that particularly offensive?”
Rereading articel. I must apologize for the reference to murder,I really dont remember seeing it in the final edit.newsmax.com/Reagan/Churche…

Reagan told Morgan he apologized about the “murder” reference because he was attacked for it — not because he didn’t remember seeing it.
Go figure.
