Rand Paul: ‘I Wasn’t Sure Obama’s Views On Marriage Could Get Any Gayer’

Tea Party Republican U.S. Senator Rand Paul mocked President Obama’s views on same-sex marriage and questioned his faith beliefs at a Faith and Freedom Coalition meeting in Iowa on Friday. Senator Paul mockingly told his audience, “Call me cynical, but I didn’t think [Obama’s] views on marriage could get any gayer.” He then went on to attack Obama’s religious beliefs, wondering which version of the Bible President Obama reads. Note the large cross on the podium Paul is standing behind. What separation of Church and State?…

Senator Paul, 49, the freshman junior Senator from Kentucky, earlier this year came under fire for the false claim that he had been detained by the TSA after refusing to be patted down. The hypocritical libertarian Senator set off a TSA body scanner, but Paul, rather than submit to a pat-down, was escorted out of the airport because he would not comply. This is standard procedure, and does not qualify as being detained.

Senator Paul also came under fire this week for lending his name and signature to a fundraising email that features a rifle pointed at President Obama’s head.

Of course, this is not the first time Senator Rand Paul has attacked same-sex marriage. As a candidate, Paul advocated for eliminating the Department of Education and in 2010 said:

“I would rather have the local school districts decide things. I don’t like the idea of Suzie has two mommies being an appropriate family situation to talk about to kindergartners. That’s what happens when it gets to the federal level.”

Yeah, right…

Senator Paul’s mocking of President Obama, same-sex marriage, and the President’s faith starts at about the 5:20 mark:
