Proof Santorum Is Lying – Practically All He Talks About Is “Morality.”

Rick Santorum has been on the defensive lately, claiming he does not spend his time talking about “moral” or social issues, and that when he does, it’s always in the context of the economy. Let’s all call “bull” on this, because even though we knew he was lying, now we have hypocritical proof of him doing just that, literally hours after appearing on MSNBC’s “Morning Joe” today saying he does not.

The New Civil Rights Movement reported earlier today in “Santorum: My War On Porn And Contraception Consistent With My War On Big Government“:

Apparently, there are two Rick Santorums. One Rick Santorum spends his days railing against the evils of contraception, pornography, Satan, separation of church and state, the teaching of evolution, college, the ruling that Prop 8 is unconstitutional, and gay marriage – while vowing to unmarry legally-married same-sex couples. The other Rick Santorum, who today appeared on Morning Joe, claims that he doesn’t talk about social issues that much, and all these liberal media people who says he does are just wrong, and, oh my, big government is evil!

You’ll really need to go watch the video to get the full effect, but suffice it to say, the title of the piece says a lot — as does his constant denials that all he can talk about are, indeed “morality” and social issues.

Today, Santorum did in fact spend the bulk of his stump speech talking abut morality and social issues. Watch:

In “Santorum’s Warning: Breaking Christian ‘Moral Bounds’ Will Lead To ‘A Very Dangerous Place’,” Igor Volsky notes:

With a horse-saddled Ronald Reagan statue at his back, Rick Santorum argued during a rally in Moline, Illinois Monday afternoon that living outside of God’s “moral bounds” will lead to anarchy and a larger government. “Marriage and the family are at the core of our foundation as society,” the former Pennsylvania senator warned. “In order to have limited government, you had to have people living good and decent and moral lives.”

Santorum money quote:

“And when people break those moral bounds and society becomes a very dangerous place and government gets bigger, we have to hire more people in uniforms here in this country and we are less free.”

I rest my case.
