Porter: Gay Marriage Is About ‘Using The Homosexual Flag As A Club To Silence All Dissent’

Janet Porter of Faith2Action says in her new video, “this battle isn’t about marriage, it’s about driving the homosexual flag into yet another segment of society and then using it as a club to silence all dissent — to label anyone who disagrees as a hater.”

Porter also falsely states that if you are a resident of any of the 41 states that have yet to legalize same-sex marriage, “they’re talking about you” as a hater.

For years, nationwide polls have repeatedly found the majority of Americans support same-sex marriage, and that is true in many states as well. It’s 100 percent false to claim that all residents of 41 states oppose marriage equality.

The video, below, is another attempt by Porter to push her new religious right film she claims is in production, “The Criminalization Of Christianity,” which uses clips of convicted pedophile Jerry Sandusky to equate gay people and same-sex marriage with pedophilia.

Porter also claims — and we could find absolutely zero proof of this — that the Southern Poverty Law Center (SPLC) invited people to “visit” Penny Nance, of Concerned Women For America, “just like someone ‘visited’ the Family Research Council.”

Porter also falsely states that the Southern Poverty Law Center has listed CWA as an anti-gay hate group, and Porter — falsely — is strongly suggesting that the Southern Poverty Law Center is trying to get a gunman to “visit” Nance.

What Porter is likely basing her false allegation on is an article in Tucker Carlson’s Daily Caller this week, which states:

In a new email fundraising appeal, the socially conservative Concerned Women for America revealed that an anti-Republican blog has been encouraging its readers to “Call/Contact or Visit” the group’s CEO “in person” and linking to CWA’s publicly available address and phone number.

CWA President and CEO Penny Nance explained in the email, which was sent to supporters on Tuesday, how the conservative women’s organization has been “maligned by the radical Left” for opposing same-sex marriage, labeled a hate group and identified by the Southern Poverty Law Center as one of “a dozen major groups [that] help drive the Religious Right’s anti-gay crusade.”

Noting that last year an individual took out his anger over the Family Research Council’s position on same-sex marriage with bullets, Nance pointed out that FRC blamed the shooting in part on the fact that the SPLC had labeled FRC a “hate group.”

The blog Nance sites in her email, called the “Republican Retard Club,” appears to have posted about Nance nearly two years ago. The blog cites the conservative group’s support for Chick-fil-a and opposition to Obamacare, among other issues, as a reason to “contact” Nance — linking to a page with her organization’s address and phone number.

The DC even quotes Nance:

“It is just a crazy blogger in his mother’s basement probably, but it is just that kind of thing that happens when they throw around terms like ‘hate groups,’” Nance said.

And the DC even refutes the “hate group” claim:

CWA is not currently on SPLC’s so-called “hate map,” although SPLC has specifically criticized CWA for its supposed hostility towards homosexuals.

But why would actual facts matter to Janet Porter?

In this video, Porter also falsely states that “to quote the Bible is illegal.”

She also states that “when Massachusetts redefined marriage, K-12 homosexual indoctrination intensified.”

If you’re known by the company you keep, Janet Porter might want to clean up her address book. In this video, she includes video from the Family Research Council and Mass Resistance — two groups who are included among the Southern Poverty Law Center’s anti-gay hate group list.
