Change.org’s Michael A. Jones is one of the most credible gay bloggers. He writes intelligently about facts. So, for him to write “Pope Benedict XVI is a Global Health Nightmare“, I had to think about it again and not dismiss the story of the Pope denouncing condoms as the usual rhetoric about the Catholic Church. He’s right. It’s not. It’s worse. This Pope is not only out of touch, as he demonstrated recently by reinstating a holocaust-denier, but dangerous.
“This Pope deserves to isolated on the global scene. The Catholic Church has become one of the most irresponsible institutions on the international scene under his watch, siding with countries like Sudan and Iran when it comes to imprisoning or executing LGBT people, and now flagrantly saying that condoms spread HIV.”
It’s not like the Church has been doing us any favors, but to actively lie? Enough is enough.
