At 12:01 this morning, dozens of same-sex couples began marrying, across New Jersey. Newark mayor Cory Booker and Lambertville mayor David DelVecchio presided over some of the first wedding ceremonies.
Booker married seven same-sex couples and two opposite-sex couples, while DelVecchio married the first couple who were united in a civil union in New jersey in 2007.
And just minutes ago, the Christie administration announced they have dropped their state Supreme Court challenge to same-sex marriage, leaving New Jersey permanently the fourteenth state in the nation to extend marriage to same-sex couples.
Congratulations, all!
Here are some of the first images from the first weddings across the Garden State.
