Photo: Father Arrested After Binding One-Year Old Baby With Duct Tape

A father in Chicago has been arrested after he reportedly bound and gagged his one-year old baby girl with duct tape, then photographed the evidence and posted it to Facebook, with the caption, “This is wut [sic] happens wen [sic] my baby hits me back. ; ),” according to a report from Fox News:

Chicago Police Department spokesman Officer Ron Gaines told FoxNews.com that Andre Curry faces one count of aggravated domestic battery.

Raines said Curry was scheduled to appear in domestic court at 1:30 p.m. It was unclear whether he had retained an attorney, Raines said.

Jimmie Whitelow, a spokesman for the Illinois Department of Children and Family Services, told FoxNews.com on Tuesday that his agency was also investigating the image. Whitelow said DCFS officials have had no prior contact with the family.

Curry’s purported Facebook profile contains several messages from Saturday referencing the image.  “Nasty dirty child abuser,” one posting read. “To do this to your daughter, your flesh and blood, is unbelievable.”  Another posting read: “This is what happens when children have children. I won’t leave a negative comment because hate breeds more hate. This boy needs prayer, education, parenting classes, and therapy.”

The Smoking Gun adds,

Soon after the image was posted, several of Curry’s Facebook friends harshly criticized him. “U goin to jail,” one woman wrote.

In a TSG interview, another of Curry’s Facebook friends, Je’Vanna Cobbins, said she believed Curry was just “playing around,” adding that he would “never do anything to harm anyone.”

An earlier TSG report noted:

Cobbins, a Chicago resident, told TSG she believes Curry was just “playing around,” adding that, “I wouldn’t say it was child abuse.” Cobbins said that Curry–who once dated her sister–would “never do anything to harm anyone.” While noting that the image went “a bit too far,” Cobbins added that Curry was “being playful with his child. People play with their child differently.”
