Patterson Goes For It! NY Governor David Patterson at a press conference at 10:20 this morning, from Manhattan’s East Side, and surrounded by a huge crowd of activists, politicians, and supporters, announced he is introducing a gay marriage billl. Quoting many historical cases, including the Dred Scott decision, as “background” for making civil rights available for all, including gays, Patterson called Prop 8 an “unfortunate accident” and said lack of marriage equality is “a crisis of leadership”.
