Pat Buchanan “Quits” MSNBC Because Fox Doesn’t Think He’s Racist

It’s been about four months since pundit Pat Buchanan appeared on MSNBC, and today he announced, “My days as a political analyst at MSNBC have come to an end.” Buchanan was placed on leave (despite the fact that he claimed he hadn’t appeared on MSNBC for health reasons) as soon as his racist, homophobic, Christian white supremacist book, Suicide of a Superpower: Will America Survive to 2025?, hit the shelves. In his column today, Buchanan claimed that he has been “blacklisted,” because he dared, he says, just like Bill Clinton did, to mention that “White America” will be gone by 2050. Pat, Bill Clinton heralded it and got a standing ovation. You lamented the end of a White America and got appropriately booed.

Buchanan, by the way, doesn’t mention if he quit, was fired, and if there was any sort of a severance package.

But perhaps what exposes Buchanan’s intense bigotry is his inability to see beyond himself and the conservative silo in which he lived.

“If my book is racist and anti-Semitic, how did Sean Hannity, Erin Burnett, Judge Andrew Napolitano, Megyn Kelly, Lou Dobbs and Ralph Nader miss that?,” Buchanan asks. No, seriously, he asked that. Why not just ask if Eric Bolling thought you were racist?

Pat, racists generally don’t see their own racism, nor that of other racists.

It’s like those cocktail parties people go to, and they say things aloud because they think they’re in the company of like-minded people. Telling “n” word jokes, or gay jokes, is perfectly acceptable and not racist or homophobic — because everyone there laughs. But Pat, they’re laughing because they’re racists and homophobes! Get it?

“That homosexual acts are unnatural and immoral has been doctrine in the Catholic Church for 2,000 years,” Buchanan writes. “Is it now hate speech to restate traditional Catholic beliefs?”

Yes, Pat, it is hate speech. Because “homosexual acts” aren’t “unnatural and immoral.”

Priests raping young boys and girls is unnatural and immoral but that hasn’t been doctrine in the Catholic Church for 2,000 years, Pat. Why is that? Do you see the problem here? You’ve lost your moral authority, as has the Catholic Church.

(By the way, Pat’s wrong. Hundreds of years ago, the Catholic Church presided over same-sex unions. Go figure.)

Pat just doesn’t get it — he doesn’t get an America that has the Internet and YouTube and Wikipedia and bloggers like yours truly who day in and day out record and report and write about people like Pat Buchanan. We can sound off and point to file after file after file, video after video after video of evidence of racism, homophobia, and bigotry.

Which is why Pat thinks he can get away with this attack:

The modus operandi of these thought police at Color of Change and ADL is to brand as racists and anti-Semites any writer who dares to venture outside the narrow corral in which they seek to confine debate.

All the while prattling about their love of dissent and devotion to the First Amendment, they seek systematically to silence and censor dissent.

Without a hearing, they smear and stigmatize as racist, homophobic or anti-Semitic any who contradict what George Orwell once called their “smelly little orthodoxies.” They then demand that the heretic recant, grovel, apologize, and pledge to go forth and sin no more.

Well, not exactly.

Because somethings, Pat are just plain wrong, racistist, bigoted, homophobic, and offensive.

Claiming that Blacks are better off because they were slaves in America, stolen from their homeland and shipped here like cattle (sorry, cattle, that’s not OK for you either,) is wrong.

There’s no need for me or you to debate whether whites are better than blaocks, whether homosexuality is good or bad. The answers are clear and if you disagree, yes, Pat, you’re a bigot and your hatred has no place on national television.

MSNBC does not owe you a job, nor a tower from which to spew your 18th century babble.

Pat closes with, “I know these blacklisters. They operate behind closed doors, with phone calls, mailed threats and off-the-record meetings. They work in the dark because, as Al Smith said, nothing un-American can live in the sunlight.”

So true, Pat. The problem for you is that your ideas have finally been exposed to sunlight, and nothing un-American can live in the sunlight.
