Pat Buchanan False Claims: MSNBC Didn’t Suspend Me, I’m On Medical Leave
Pat Buchanan, the anti-gay, anti-Semitic, racist bigot whose latest book finally woke up his MSNBC bosses, falsely says the reason he hasn’t appeared on MSNBC lately is because he’s had some health issues and took a medical leave of absence. The fact of the matter is that Phil Griffin stated that due to the nature of Buchanan’s book, “Suicide of a Superpower: Will America Survive to 2025?,” he would not allow Buchanan to appear on the cable news channel until after the book tour is complete, and possibly, never again.
And, apparently, MSNBC has already replaced Buchanan with Comcast’s Robert Traynham, a black, gay, anti-gay conservative who for ten years worked as then-Senator Rick Santorum’s Director of Communications.

Mediaite reports:
“Well, you know I’ve had some medical issues at the end of the year which were pretty problematic, and so I’ve sort of been out of speaking and things like that,†Buchanan told conservative radio host Hugh Hewitt Monday night. “I’ve started back writing the column in December, and I’ve got the column going. I’m doing McLaughlin Group. But we haven’t gotten up on MSNBC.â€
“On Drudge Report, somebody said I’ve been suspended,†Buchanan added. “I don’t know anything about that. I hope to get back full up here in January, but I’ve been out for a couple of months.â€
“I don’t think the ideas that [Buchanan] put forth [in the book] are appropriate for the national dialogue, much less on MSNBC,†MSNBC chief Phil Griffin said to Deadline reporters, who added:
Will Buchanan be back at all on MSNBC? “I have not made my decision,†replied Griffin, who did say he will be tinkering with the network’s format as the year goes on. “Pat’s a good guy. He didn’t like [being removed from the air], but he understood.â€
Mediaite adds:
The New York Timesreported similar comments from Griffin, who added there that “Pat and I are going to meet soon and discuss it†and that “Pat is a good guy. Some of his ideas are alarming.â€
Apparently, Buchanan didn’t understand. Or, he’s just lying.
In his book, Buchanan calls same-sex marriage equality “absurd,” suggests it is unconstitutional, claims gay marriage is being “imposed dictatorially,” and — while this is subject to interpretation, given his unclear language — Buchanan seems to suggest that the Obama Administration and his military leaders are now “deeply-resented and widely detested” because of the repeal of Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell (DADT).
In November,  Pat Buchanan suggested that the Penn State child abuse and rape sex scandal caused by Jerry Sandusky ultimately is a product of NAMBLA and gay marriage.
