Paladino’s Gay Nephew: “I’m Very Offended”

Gay-bashing, Tea Party-supported, GOP NY gubernatorial candidate Carl Paladino may have attempted an apology to the public, but there’s no word on whether he’s apologized to his gay nephew, whom he used on Monday as a shield to continue spewing his homophobic hatred (“I’m not a homophobic,” Paladino said Monday,) of gays and lesbians.

Via the New York Post:

“Jeff Hannon, 23, a staffer for the Paladino campaign, also hasn’t shown up at work since the bomb-throwing GOP gubernatorial hopeful made his caustic comments about homosexuality, one of Hannon’s co-workers told The Post.

“In a brief phone interview yesterday, Hannon, in his first public remarks on the incident, told The Post, “Obviously, I’m very offended by his comments.”

“Hannon said he had no further comments “right now,” before hanging up.”

This “brief interview” sounds more like Hannon simply answered his phone when the Post called.

In “Nephew of loudmouth Carl Paladino shows how to keep mouth shut,” the New York Daily News reported that Hannon “spent the day hiding inside his parents’ upstate home, ditching his duties as a campaign aide.”

“I have no comment right now,” Hannon told the Daily News when reached on his cell phone.

“I don’t want my face to be all over the newspaper over this.”

The News then pasted Hannon’s photo (above) on the front page of its nydailynews.com website.
