One Million Moms Says ‘So Long Amazon’

One Million Moms, no paragon of efficiency, timeliness, organization, today via Facebook and Twitter began circling their wagons around their latest target: the $48 billion (“billion-with-a-b”) Amazon.com (NASDAQ:AMZN). Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos and his wife last week, in response to a request for $100,000 to $200,000 from a former employee, donated a whopping $2.5 million (“million-with-an-m”) to protect same-sex marriage in the state of Washington, where Amazon is based.

One Million Moms, the low-cost fundraisng and email-harvesting arm of the certified anti-gay hate group, American Family Association, hasn’t yet specifically called for a boycott, they’re just rallying the troops in their latest message to supporters: “So long Amazon…” which says it all.

Here are some of the comments on their Facebook page supporting the hatred from One Million Moms, but notice many expressing sheer exhaustion and signaling defeat:

Bob Bembridge The younger generation is a left-wing version of the Hitler Youth, subjected to left-wing propaganda from the day they enter nursery school to the day they graduate college. As they enter business and government, they bring these beliefs to their careers.

Mike Ezekiel Amazon WAS my favorite online ordering company, but let’s face it… they’re all becoming decadent now. America is the last beacon of morality in the world, but that’s changing fast… and so is our planet. It’s starting to burn up. I wonder if there’s a connection?

Patty Owen Hall Geeez! We may not be able to boycott ALL, but we can do our best!!

Wendy Howe While I don’t agree with the donation. It does seem to be a personal donation and didn’t anyone notice that it was also Bill Gates? And Apple was on the list of companies. So I guess we won’t have to worry about where to shop online since we will all need to get rid of our computers since the only two major computer companies in America also support gay marriage. I also think it makes a difference whether the person behind the company makes the donation or the company itself. Yes, he has his money because the company is prosperous, but still not quite the same.

Keri Johnson You know honestly, if we boycotted everyone that supported something sinful, we’d be amish…I do not think Big Corporations should play politics, but the fact is they do, nothing is really going to change that, shy of God’s intervention. Instead of boycotting, I am going to pray that God changes the world.

Kasondra Morin I agree with Keri. There are so many companies that support things that I may not agree with…half of the products in my house would need to get thrown out. Prayer is more powerful than boycott, especially if you’re talking major companies.
